Opinions needed:

I am looking into a ATO for my tank now. Tired of every other day top off. Yes I am wanting to be lazy . Lol
But seriously , I am wondering if I should go Tunze Nano osmolator 3152 or Tunze 3155 ..... Or invest in a Digital aquatics RKL basic or plus?

I can buy right now the 100.00 tunze nano, or the 190.00 tunze 3155 , and or the RKL basic 105.00 or RKL + for 250.00
But not sure of the difference in the controllers and if I still wi need to add to to the controller for ATO and how that works.

Thanks for your input and help.
Chris

Well if u get the controller which is always a good idea in this hobby then u will need to purchase the float switches and pump ...

I believe the tunze comes with a pump and they are very reliable...

Or you could just get a float switch that has the relay/switch whatever connected and just add a pump..also a cheaper option.....check out autotopoff.com that's what iam talkn about....and a pump is short money anyway...

I thought you didn't have a job, hence you couldn't afford 24$ to join the club? Looks like your working again so congrats on the job. I've always heard the best feedback on the tunze.

Nope no job landed yet, just sold off some old stuff I don't use anymore . Also the hammer coral sales. So I changed my mind on the reactor and all and used a lil power head in the sump and chemi pure bag. Instead. Lol

But hope this job comes through I just applied for though. It sux having to change careers , after 15 years of doing the same thing. But poo happens sometimes and everything happens for a reason. So I am not gonna sit back and cry. Just gotta get out there and make it happen. Ya know !

Paint ball toys from the past and remote control car will be missed. But I will rather have the $$ in my pocket than, it sitting collecting dust. They were fun but. Paint and parts from racing got to add up and wife got to realize that it's not all 20.00 lol ..... I got a smart woman that can figure that lie out quick. Hahaha

I use chemipure as well, I'm a fan

Tunze all the way!!!! Skip the nano. The optical sensor is where it is at!! Dead on accurate and easy to use.

Sent from my ball and chain.
120g reef
40g (down at the moment)
8g nano sexy shrimp tank

The only reason I brought up the controller is. For 40 ish dollers more is a controller . That would show me temp, ph,lights , and all. Dang what to do , what to do! It would be nice to be able to monitor it all, and get rid of timers and all. But I have no exp In these things what so ever. Lol, all started at looking at a JBJ and the auttotopoff.com . The. I read about controllers being able to do that. But I don't want to get a controller and still end up spending another 50-75 bux for parts to make the ATO work. But like I was saying , it would be nice for all the extra good features of having a controller...

I use the tunze osmo regular. Love it works great laser sensor is the best. Meleev has a cheap diy ato on his site uses a power cord and some float switches and a pump. With a controller though u should be able to just attach the float switches and set it to turn a pump on and off. Cheap if u alrdy have a low gph pump to use.

Float switch $5, Aqualifter pump $20, that's all you need and a little creativity to build a bracket. I use parts from MaxiJet PHs for the brackets.

So that's all I would need ? Then I could plug that into the SL1 on RKL plus if I decide to go that route ?

I use a JBJ ato. I bought a solenoid and plumbed it into my RO setup. That way im topping with pure RO water and avoud the need for a pump because house water pressure handles that. No need for a holding tank or makinfg water separate its completely hands-off. I have done nothing to topoff in over a year.

That's pretty cool...

Oh...the valve is a solenoid that opens water TO the ro unit and then it fills the sump.

When I bought the ato, I looked it over and decided it wasnt "auto" enough for me. :)

I also put in manual valves to bypass the solenoid which give me ability to fill my garbage cans to mix water for waterchanges. Id like to make that more automatic somehow.
