Looking for some feedback from my favorite community of R2R.

I need to automate my 2 part dosing and curious to get some feedback. Hopefully will be pulling the trigger in the next few days.

Here are the ones I am considering....
BRS Dosing pumps, which I will either run off of my RKL or add two separate digital timers. Clearly the most affordable. But are they reliable? Are they easy to service and maintain?
AquaMedic Reefdoser Twin, a bit pricey but streamlined and compact with built in controlability.
Bubble Magnus Dosers Most expensive of the bunch, and the largest. Anyone using this one yet?

Please guys let er rip, your opinion and feedback is invaluable.

I'm happy with my Bubble Magus doser. Dose all 3 - CA, ALK, and Mag easily.

I use the BRS branded dosers hooked to my Apex. They are on sale right now if you check out their website.

No problems with the dosers operating reliably.

Another vote for Drews Dosers. I have them hooked up to my RKL. With whichever you decide to get, don't forget to calibrate the doser.

I seem to have misplaced the link for the ones I was going to use. They were $70 each and came bare bones, but I'd seen someone use a Radio Shack "Project Box" to house them together. They seemed to be the BRS dosers just without and markup and no exterior, but the exterior that the guy bought was $4 and he only needed one, so it looked pretty streamlined. That said, the BM or something similar would make it really easy to automate and if I had the money, I'd be all for it.

Thanks for the tip!

I saw that somewhere also and can't find it again!

Ya, I noticed that. Only if I could get that certain someone who owes me loot to pay up!

i use the Aquamedic dual doser and love it. Kind of scary to programming it for the first time but after that its a solid performer. The one downfall is the lack of being able to set the time at which to dose. It only doses at specific intervals and doesnt run like a standard timer.

So biggest dif is amount dosed with the Drew's and the BRS models right? Glad I double checked that.......sold out now anyway... Thanks

I use this one too, with the exception of being a 4 pump unit. I've got to agree that I wish I could set the time at which to dose. Other than that, 2 years and problem free.

i got my "drew's dosers" from TB aquatic. same pump, i think the same price and usually in stock. Just make sure to mount the pump, don't leave it laying on it's back or side on the floor, IME the nozzles need to be vertical and pointing down. test and measure the output, i've had 2 for alk and cal and they are great. good luck.

+1

Very reliable. The only cons are the lack of standard timer control and the requirement of system reset after a power failure.

Aquamedic resets after power failures?? That is a major turnoff for me.

I just got a reeffiller pump not too long ago. Its more quiet than I had read they could be and so far its making dosing kalk a breeze

You dont have to completly reset it after a power failer, you just have to press 2 bottons to get it going again. It wont lose your settings it just stops the timer. All in all a very nice unit!
