I'm thinking about drilling my tank but want to keep it simple. I was thinking about getting a gl*******s overflow for my 75 gal and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them? Especially the noise level. I'm debating buying a whole new reef ready tank or just drilling mine. Thanks

I have a Glass Holes overflow on my 50 rimless. It is the 700 and I like it. I did have a little noise factor with water flowing into the overflow itself but was able to get that reduced with a slight modification to the sides of the overflow. In fairness I am also only running about 200 gal/hour through the overflow and I think that is why it was a little noisy to start with. I really like the compact design that doesn't take up much room on a small tank. Hope that helps.

Without a doubt, the reason your overflow becomes noisy is due to the lower flow rate. I have the exact same setup, 50 breeder with 700 GPH overflow kit. Depending on the amount of flow that I let pass through the chiller, which reduces or increases the flow to my DT, the overflow noise level increases or decreases. I've totally been happy with mine, highly recommend it.
