So I’m getting read to upgrade lighting. I’d like your opinion on what I should go with. A. The new dimmable hybrid T5 fixture from AquaticLife paired with a hydra 26 HD.
B. The non dimmable ATI 6 or 8 bulb fixture.

I’m going to be getting a reefbreeders photon v2+ fixture they seem to be a light that gives you a lot of bang for your buck. They also sell a kit to use supplement t5 or the have lunar bar kits.

I’ll look into that too. I’m looking at keeping a mix of sps lps and zoas in an IM lagoon 25. I’ll be using T5 no matter which way I go, so I guess it comes down to, is it worth it adding a led fixture to the mix. I like the idea of having the control-ability of the led.

I would lean towards the hybrid. It would give you a lower bulb replacement cost, additional control-ability without sacrificing too much spread and (in my opinion) a more dynamic look to the tank.

Side not: I have 2 reefbreeders photon v2's and am a big fan. haven't had any big name brand LED's to compare with though, so take it with a grain of salt.
The point of that though is to say that if you do go with the photon v2, and the aquatic life (I have the first version and am guessing the newer model has the same interior dimensions) the photon does not fit in it in the stock configuration. You either have to set it over the attachment rail's (doesn't block any diodes) or ideally get the 24" extension kit for the aquatic life fixture.
