Below is a link to a light I am considering for a new build. I plan on using two of the following:

https://sbreeflights.com/sbox-reef-lights/3-sbox-elite-16-ramping.html

I've owned many different lights during my time in this hobby, but none of them have provided enough light for my corals to thrive.

I want to be certain that the next light I purchase will be more than I need.

Am I providing enough light for corals to thrive with a tank with the following dimensions:
48W x 18D x 18H.

Thanks
Dom

Check out Reef Breeders Photon v2.
For your tank size, I think you may be pleasantly surprised.
It will provide more coverage than the sb and on be light will be enough. If you wasnt more light then add a lumen bar or two.

Cleaner look, more coverage, 2 year USS warranty (they pay shipping both ways)

There are a lot of people who like the SB. The Photon is basically the same light, just going edge to edge - this is an overgeneralization, but close. With any Chinese stuff, they share a lot of the same diodes and you pay for features like ramping, timers and form factor. Either is probably enough light for most things.

A lot of folks would want to add T5s to either of those to fill in some spectrum holes... some like them alone. Some complain about disco balling of the colors, but live with this over the shadowing of a point-source LED. These are the only downsides that I can think that some people would give.

Disclosure: I use neither of these, but have seen both in action... so you could definitely get a better opinion than mine.

This is my opinion:
Stop shopping around and get a simple ATI 6 bulb fixture. Can't go wrong for that size tank!
Right amount of light, well distributed and well built.
Plug n'play, plus will last for more than a decade for sure.
Grandis.

I have the 16" WiFi. Have not used it yet (build in progress), but the build quality is solid and I liked the WiFi controls when I tested it. Check the site, they do not make the ramping any longer I believe. Just Basic, Timer and WiFi. The Reef Breeders Photon V2 also looks nice and I have heard good reviews. About $100 more for 6 channels of LED control vs. 3 for the SB. SB also includes UV.
