so i got this fish from the lfs because it look supect, fins tore up etc. i like to try and save fish, anyway ;it was hard to tell if it had velvet or was just transtioning and stressed. point being his issues were not as plain as the nose on my face kinda illness....they had it for about 1 week...

my process---
i gave it a FW dip, followed by a 90min ralley pro bath then plopped him into a 20 long qt along with CP at 60mg per gallon. I also dose vitmarine M an C to the water daily.

all food i feed are also soaked in vitmarine M an C, metroplex, selcon and kanaplex with seachems entice, oddly i have never seen him eat but he is still alive so i am assuming he is

its been 1 week and i notice his colors are (alot more blue) improving but started developing this on one side of his body. so i did a large water change (75%) and added API gc (beacusei have still not seen him eat) and API EM to the water.

day after tomorrow will be another water change day and the only thing i have not use that i have on hand is copper power and paragaurd and kanaplex powder(which is hard to disolve in water but i will try)

the qt tank containes a heater, a small wavemaker and a airstone filter along with some large pvc elbows and a temp gauge thats it, oh and a light. no carbon, no gfo, and no stray volatage---- a bare bones qt setup.

its odd that most of the random blemishes are traversing along the laterial line but i dont know. i say fungis but im an engineer, and i do not see fish disese on a daily basis. so i was hoping that someone more knowledgable about fish diseaes could educate me on what my next few steps should be. i thought that maybe the small qt has him stressed out and if i place hm in my 220 that it may help him out but EHHHHHHHH im not to sure about that.

Marine fungus is really rare, and this doesn’t resemble any parasites, so most probably is a bacterial plaque. A broad spectrum, gram negative antibiotic could be tried -Neoplex or Kanaplex for example.
Getting the fish feeding is imperative. Adding vitamins or amino acids to the water just feeds the bacteria, it won’t help the fish.

bacterial plaque. i will google this...im being seriuos not an ****** with this next question----can you force feed a fish? pick him up and put pellets in thier mouths? .. cause im not sure how to make him eat...

Agree on bacterial plaque in which larger marine angels and sime butterflies are susceptible as well as Lymphocystis which generally starts at fins and rarely the body.
Both require both Good water quality and diet to propose battle.
What foods are you feeding ?

i feed the following to all my tanks

a diy blend mysiss, mussels, clams and shrimp which has been soaked in vit m an c, kanaplex, metro plex, selcon and entice. all blended up and formed into small cubes

pellet food is blend of PE mysis, Ocean Nutrition Formula two also soaked in vit m an c, kanaplex, metro plex, selcon and entice.

I also have whole mussels clams shrimp and squid no soaked..

If youre feeding metro and kanaplex always, I would not.
While diet is not bad, it is lacking for fishs' needs. Add LRS Herbivore diet, ocean nutrition angel and butterfly formula and plankton
Garlic occasionally good for immune system and entice is supposed to promote feeding but rarely works

would as preoxide bath knock this stuff off? maybe. looks like scabbs

You can tube feed fish, but it is a bit of a learned skill. Here is an article I wrote about it:

so I gave him another rally pro bath while i set up another tank.

very interesting results durning the bath. the water got very skimmey like soap scum an loaded with particles. his first rally pro bath did not yeild these results...the white blotches went away to reveal what I can only describe as our second layer of skin.

I transfered him to another tank with only reef rally pro running in it. after 3 days, i will do a 100% wc. hope I see him eat.

I was told that the meds maybe suppressing his appetite.
