Looks good. I think leaving a completely open swim through between the two structures would look great as well. Negative space add interest imo

I'd remove the Tongan branch centre bit and leave it open. To me the different rock styles don't look natural

I have both wall reef and just changed my fowlr to islands. I like the island more than the wall. The island leaves more swimming room and the fish are more active and not just hiding behind the wall. Just my experiences

I agree with removing the branches. If you want to keep them, I would break them up and have them sticking out of several of the holes in the rock on each island.

Ok so removing is not an option. How about bridge it from where it is now to across the "bay" on the right hand Island.

If you happen to remove that branching rock, I have some little guys that would love it! Maybe your son would be up for a trade? I have a 12 year old. I understand they are tough negotiators! Lol

Since your kid picked it out make it more of a focal point on side of the right hand island; it’ll flow better than merely acting as bridging feature between the two islands and bring it more to the foreground.
