What do yall think about Reef-Roids and Reef Energy?

Can you use both at the same time?

Do they really work?

I’ve used both and currently use only Reef Energy and my corals grow very well indeed.

I found the reef roids to be a lot more expensive in terms of how much I need to add to my system and also the Reef Energy is easy to measure and add as its pre mixed.

You could use them at the same time or mix them around in different days. I also add liquid phytoplankton from time to time as well.

Just my own preference but I’m sure they are both good. Infact that reminds me I must use the reef roids I have left!

I dose A and B every other day. I just started doing reef roids in conjunction to see if there were any noticeable changes. I also do trace elements a,b,c,d once per week.

I didn't notice any difference with Reef Roids and believe most of these products to be largely useless.

The video was awesome! I’ve seen growth with just dumping in Reef Roids but now! Thank you

I would disagree with this. I don’t doubt that there are snake oils out there, and some tanks don’t need feeding at all, I think it’s been proven that Reef Roids in particular contributes to growth.

I have used it since the beginning and seen excellent growth. Would they have grown as fast without being fed? Maybe, but I don’t have fish so they would’ve had a difficult time finding food.

Re: Reef Roids ->

this is almost exactly how I do mine, i buff the mix up with leftover LRS Frenzy broth and Phyto Feast. I get the same reactions and results, phenomenal.

I also use FUEL about 15 minutes prior to shutting the flow off which gets all the corals up and awake/open for the feeding.

Almost like training the corals to know its feeding time. It works. period.

I have been using Reef Energy a few times a week at half the recommended dose. I don't know if it does anything for the corals, but I have Diatoms in abundance.

I think that’s a sign you should back off the reef energy.
You think? Haha. I actually have. I thought the Diatoms were because I recently did a tank upgrade, but now I'm pretty sure it was the Reef Energy.

I really want to like reef energy but it seems no matter how little I dose I still get a lot of diatoms.

Is that pro feeding or anti feeding reply? Just glanced at that article and it seems the experiment basically said it’s species specific and in some cases hindered growth but helped others. Interesting read thank you.
I’ve dosed both reef roids and Red Sea a/b not too sure on yay or nay. I just think it helps lps and at least mushrooms in my case for sure not so sure on acropora besides adding to the nitrate/phosphate source.

Very new to coral. And this Duncan was my first. He had 6 heads. Very tiny. When I got him and was feeding mysis. This is him less than a month later. Is it just the reef roids ? Maybe not. My tank is continuing to mature and stabilize. But it’s more than enough for me to feel confident in the product.

I use both. I do suspect reef energy causes diatoms at full growth. With reef roids, I get a significant and annoying cleanup crew response, especially from my cleaner shrimp which jump on the corals no matter how I try to distract. Same for LPS pellets unless I do the bottle spot-feed thing. So I like reef energy at low dose cause the corals can take it in without being bothered and I do raids once or twice a week for something more substantial.
