36g BF, 22.5 lbs. LR no coral. Tank is about 11 weeks old. Here's my last water test
pH 8.3
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 0
Alkalinity 12
Nitrite 0
Calcium either 320 or 300
SG 1.024
Magnesium 1000
Good, bad, indifferent? Are there other readings I should be concerned about? I'd like to start some easy corrals soon. Too early? This hobby is much more complicated than I expected.

Calcium and magnesium are low, alk high.
Nutrients being 0 sounds fishy to me:p
Some soft corals are very hardy, xenia, gsp

FTS : full tank shot, please.
Don't be overwhelmed by nitrate 0 --> nutrients can be in the form of algae inside the tank ;Cat
Continue feeding fish and monitor tank. if you get coralline algae growing then your tank is ready for coral.

Unusual to see 6 fish and no ammonia or nitrate.
What test kit (s) are you using ?

You have all that livestock and no nitrates? That doesn't seem right unless you have algae growing like crazy.

Did your alK get that high because you added buffer to bring Ph to 8.3?
How are you testing 0 nitrates??
