I am in the process of setting up my first reef tank. I currently work overnights and want to be able to see my reef on my off days. My concern is that the room my tank is in has several windows without blinds. The tank doesn’t get direct light, but there is still a bit in the room during the day. Could I run my lighting schedule with my schedule, or will the sunlight during the day be too much light when my tank lights are turned off?

I mean the darker the better but if there isn't any direct light during the day it should be ok. It will get used to the light cycle but If you are opening the blinds during the day and it's bright in your room it will mess with the corals cycles

I could look into building some kind of cover to shield from the light. I just don’t want my tank to be an eyesore half of the day since it’s the highlight of the room.
