Hello all,

I have been lurking for a month now reading and reading. As a kid i was big into aquariums and even was full geek and was a member of the aquarium club (all freshwater) in my little town of Lancaster, pa. Well the step daughter brought a couple of fish home from school and wife and I bought a little 5 gallon tank and spent about 50 bucks but it brought back how much I loved dealing with and enjoying Aquariums. So decided was going to look at starting a salt water aquarium.

After reading and creating spreadsheets of what I would want to start with (posted list in another discussion) I think after we do the vacation this year (end of July) I am going to order and start having fun.
Give me another month and a half to get obsessive over what I want and to read everything I can get my hands on.

Now just thought of a question but we vacation in Ocean city NJ, can I bring sand back from the beach to use in the aquarium? Probably not but question just popped into my head.

Thank you all for the help you have been just reading the post.

Shawn

Welcome to R2R! Can you, sure. Should you, probably not. Is it legal, varies by state. Issue is you just dont know what you're bringing in with you as far as contaminants, pests, or small metal objects that can leech out over time.
Hope this helps and welcome to the forum:)

Welcome!

Lots of reefing and reefers in Amish country! You'll be shocked.
Fish of Hex, Inappropriate Reefer, Billy Pipes... That Fish Place has been good to us as we got started as well.
