HPIM8441.JPG HPIM8446.JPG Hello, I have been wanting to use some led strips designed for a scrubber. I tried a scrubber last year and never really got decent results. Anyway I want to experiment. These lights are from Expression lighting. They have 9 diodes each 1 watt each 8 red 660 mn and 1 blue 460 mn I have 4 strips for a total of 36 watts. Not very strong I presume. The ref is 16 by 16. It's 14 inches deep and the lights will be about 7 inches from the water's surface. I will run this ref bare bottom with chaeto or such only. Ya think the lighting is strong enough? here is a couple pic of what I "plan " so far.

sorry the pics are so big. I haven't quite got the hang of it yet. The simple frame is pretty sturdy I found but not decided on yet. Thanks

Ok so I got a little further today. I want to keep this whole thing as one unit. I can unplug it and move it out of the way when I need to remove the huge handfuls of chaeto out ! Not sure if exposing the ballasts to needed moisture. What do ya think?
