Optical Sensor vs Kalkwasser issue... help (!)

Hey all.
My optical sensor on the tunze osmolator is not working too great with kalkwasser.
The sensor will attract a code of calcium after some time. This results in the sensor thinking that the water level is fine even though it's not.
I thought about using a float switch in-sted, or maybe switch the optical and the float switch... Is this option even a possibility?
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Try putting the kalk outlet farther away / in another compartment than the ato
