I am setting up a waterbox 190 which will have a aprox 10-15 gallon refugia area in the sump which will run on a reverse photic cycle. I am using two Eco Chic Waterproof Refugium LED Lights (the 'burple' ones) and wanted to get peoples opinion on this setup. Will it be enough PAR to grow macros at a reasonable rate? I was thinking about adding a third, submerged to light the algae from the side or slightly below. Maybe even make the third one the 10k version.

Ryan from brs has said multiple times recently that in their testing the burple kinds, exhibit persistent cyano in the displays of their test tanks, and if they switch a full spectrum and a burple, the cyano follows the burple. Something to think about. I have a burple light for 3 years and have president cyano, so I don't know if that's evidence but I would go full spectrum if it's an option.

Interesting. I may try and repeat this experiment :)

Unfortunately I have already bought the 'burple' ones. But I did run them on a test system for 8 weeks and the cyno came and went..... I think I will add a full spectrum light though, I can always dial it back if needed.
