Just wanted to share my new acro! Would like to see some pics of yours and if possible mature colonies of this acro! ... share any info you can about growth, placement, etc..

I don't remember what it's called it's not a monti, I think it's a psammacora or something like that I bought it at WWC if anyone can name it thanks!

Mine likes med-high light and high flow. It grows pretty fast now for me since I figured out where it wants to be in my tank. LOL. I will try and get a picture in a few minutes.

Thanks. It's the blue iris for sure. Unless live Aquaria had it mislabeled. Lol. Yeah that's the atl meteor shower. I like it too but the thing grows like a weed!

that isnt the blue iris it looks like joe the coral,they had it mislabled IMO.

Well I guess we will see when my 3 inch frag makes it to the 10"-12" size if the coral in the ORA photo. Plus all of ORAs pictures are taken in NATURAL sunlight with no supplemental lighting so the color will be different. Not to mention that flow pattern had a lot to do with growth pattern! But thanks for your insight CMC!

Ooooook..... It is not the iris,just look at the coral.just because you got it from live aquaria doesn't mean they don't make mistakes.I'm not trying to be rude but i do work for a LFS on the side and have seen EVERY coral ORA sells.it IS NOT the iris,so I will see you in a year to see

i bet if you sent a pic of your frag to LA they would tell you it was mislabled and send you a replacement.

No Problem! I didn't take you as being rude and I'm sorry if I came off as being rude to you. I didn't mean to be either. I will get another picture in a year and see. LOL. If I can remember that is!! I do know that things get mis-labled. Everyone makes mistakes. Either way it is a beautiful coral.

It is a nice piece either way like you said.you should email a pic to LA,I'm almost certain they will admit they either mislabeled it or sent you the wrong piece and replace it.they are good about that kind of stuff.sorry if I came off harsh as that wasn't my intention.

Nice!! sorry to hear that!! this is actually my second frag & it's doing quite nice! first one was delayed and when it got here was freezing & very stressed out... it died the next day!

+ 1 cmacneil. the coral does not look like the iris because of the polyps and also the growth of the coral. you can tell even by comparing the frag from the first post to it, the first photo looks exactly as the one on oracorals.com +1 on two great corals.
