Just wanting to hear experience with them. I have an ora one in quarantine. Threw some aptasia in there and no go so far. He eats other things pretty well but he definitely takes a long time to analyze his food. If he doesn't eat any aptasia by the time I'm done with qt then I think I might not even add him to my tank.

He is probably shaken up from being moved around so much during shipping and then being put in your QT. It will probably start to eat them once it has settled down some.

Ours took a long time before he started eating appies. We thought maybe the appies were too big, then one day they seemed a little 'bullied", then stress, then gone.

Time will tell I guess. Like I said he is eating other things well, just slowly. He is also very small like under 2 inches. I just wanted to make sure that just being tank bred didn't change their behavior. I was getting worried that maybe I should have scouted out a wild caught one.

I have had them take a few weeks to start eating them, but eventually did after I zapped a few with aiptasia solution. Within a week all the aiptasia would be gone. However, soon after they would pick at LPS.

It took my filefish about 3.5 weeks before he went after the aptasia .

the one in my refugium took about a week to eat the aiptasia. i was discouraged as well, because the fish was so shy. i never saw the fish eat them, just one day every single one was gone. big ones, tiny ones. all gone. effective!

Anyone have them go after zoas? It's mainly zoas in my frag tank and some very pricy ones so that has me a little worried but at least easy to catch him if he goes rogue.

Yes. It took him a while to start eating the aiptasia, but once he cleaned the tank out of those, he started in on zoanthids. I had to rehome him.

He didn't touch any of the "regular" fish, but I guess the stingfish was frilly and still enough, that it looked like a plant/appy/coral.
