I got a beautiful ORA pearlberry frag about 9 months ago. when I got it it was beautiful and had the color you see on the web, light blue with green polyps and purple tips. I changed my lights back in July to full spectrum leds. Since then the pearlberry has turned green but it still has its purple tips. Where do I need to place it so that it will go back to the light blue color? I am assuming it needs more light. for the last 5 months I have left it at the top of my tank about 5 inches from the lights. I am running my lights at 35% for 5 hours. do I need more light?

IMO this one likes the light, you can try bumping up your leds 5% a week or 2 and see if it helps. Although, I don't have much experience with LEDs. I'm sure someone more experienced will chime in on this.

Silvia, I have a large colony in my tank just switched over to LED's. So far it's looking the same although I expect a little shift color wise due to the new lights.
I will post an updated picture in a few weeks as I'm slowly bumping my LED's up. It was used to intense MH light right above it and liked good flow.
Should look like this photo. It is a top down and and no post processing. This was taken a day or two after I switched over to the LED's.

jporter17 if you don't mind me asking what % do you have your lights on? my tank is a 180 6x2x2 I will post a before pic and after pic when I get home.

What kind of lights do you have set at 35%? I have evergrows set at 75% hung 16" above the water line and mine is still blue with purple tips.

They are Radion Gen3 pros and set to 55% right now. The white LEDs are set to max 55% and the rest is a mix of the other colors, mostly blues. I have two spread out over a 48X24X30T 150 gallon tank. They have been on the tank for a little over 2 weeks now and I started them off at 45% with the whites very low at 40% total. Hope this helps. JP

Your colony looks a little washed out. http://www.orafarm.com/products/hardcoral/acropora/pearlberry/

My brown doo doo is coming back to color, I'm excited about my tank. Still a long ways to go but I'm following this thread.

Me 2 same problem. Ditched my AI Vega's. Got an ATI 8 bulb T5 fixture and never looked back. Pearlberry loves it. Hairy, brighter, n growing better than ever.
