ORA Pearlberry

Man, I wish mine looked like that. My frag came from that colony, but since we dont have same lighting's, they dont look the same.

It’s hard to make them look the same. Especially this acro, really hard to color up correctly.
Here another colony under my new tank, G4 pros. (Previous pic was g3 pros).

I think the whole theory about the vertical lines on the coralites indicating a fake is not correct. I’m seeing a lot of very really looking pieces in this thread that have these lines when zoomed into the pic.

I just looked at a frag that is going to Boom. It has been dipped 3 times and was just cut and is off to the side in a frag rack and there are faint stripes on the corallites. I don't even know... maybe with stress or poor lighting there are some? There are none to be seen on the colony.

Has anybody else seen any of these derivatives on ORA plugs? All of the ones purchased on ORA plugs look the same to me. Half of the photos on here do not look like mine IMO, but would really love to know if they came from ORA.

This coral seems to have a high mortality rate under LEDs. I only know of a single specimen that I traded/sold that is still alive under LEDs and some guys have killed more than one. On the other hand, it seems to have a normal mortality rate under T5 and MH. This is a small sample size with maybe less than 50 frags leaving my house. If I am right about it being hard to keep under LEDs, then it will get even more and more scarce in photos as the old-timers disappear from the interwebs.

It has a nice 8 bulb T5 waiting for it here. :)

@aquavista99

Successful pb keepers, where are you placing it in your tank? I bought a small frag about three weeks ago. Currently brown, mid tank, high flow.

It's nice to know that my Pearlberry is the real deal, can't thank @hollback enough for such an incredible piece!

Just got it yesterday at the swap and I'll do everything I can to not lose these colors, it really does look better in person. Under t5's -

I have had mine anywhere from 400 to 600+ PAR under 14K Phoenix Metal Halides. ...high light under T5 as well. They struggle under LED from what I have seen, so I have no opinion on this.

High light for me.

Awesome, glad you like it. Here is a photo of the "chunk" I brought to the swap that a vendor snagged before the doors even opened. :)

Mines under LEDs and seems to be doing fine, has encrusted it's base and colors still look good. Growth could be better but it hasn't been in the tank for very long.
