Anyone have some colonies or frags of these guys growing? For an ORA I don't seem to see as much conversation on these guys, at least not locally.

These are my two.

This one's put on better color. These were taken about 6 months ago, I think.

beautiful pieces beauties indeed , I lost mine to the aefw bug and really miss it need to find one to fill the void in my tank amongst the others I lost.

Does the Pearlberry need high light to maintain color? I've had a frag for 5-6 months now and it has lost a lot of its color. It's positioned in the lower half of my 400 watt 20k Radium lit tank.

Mine's pretty much near the top of my tank with a teklight blasting down on it-I'd say maybe try moving it up. At the same time I've noticed a lot of people in the local community have them browned out, or talk about them being a real delicate/sensitive coral, so perhaps that's something to do with it.

I have mine cooking 3" below the waters surface with a 250w radium blasting it and it loves it great growth and great color... I took some pics earlier just need to get them uploaded...

8" from the top under 400w radiums in lumenbrights minis 16" above tank. Don't have a pick and mine is only a mini colony. It took mine a while to encrust some before it got its color and now looks amazing.

I just fragged mine and it looks pretty good actually! I didn't realize the colors mostly came back as I haven't paid too much attention to it. I put the frag higher so we shall see if it comes back to its full glory!

I think we got our frags from the same person? my piece was greenish brown and small as hell and would not grow at all, so I moved it up and now I am finally seeing growth and it went from brown to green and now it is starting to turn it's true color.

this is what happened to my pearlberry when my tank hit ulns, then it bleached due to a large salinity swing, and still has yet to develop any pigmentation

Yep, same person. The colony looked incredible in Justin's tank.

That green you have is surreal-mine all stay more of a tealish white- here's a few frags from the mother colony, and the mother colony as well-I'm still surprised more people don't have these, being an ORA I figured they'd be common
here's some pics... (BUT FIRST!!!!! % <- Gratuitous Percent Sign, those are the hot thing  )

And this one is oversaturated on purpose-not an accurate "picture" but I'd love to print this out and hang it as "art"

The first one I posted has lost some of that color... It had been under overdriven T5's in a 120 and looked like candy. It held the color a while under MH, but isn't quite as gem-ish. Still nice, though. I found it interesting that the second one was so different in color and seemingly in growth form. The first one has spindly branches that come off the amin table portion. The second one doesn't have them. It is smaller, so maybe when it get closer to the size of #1, it'll do that, too. It's continued coloring up, though, so I'm hopefully I can get the 'candy' look back on the first colony (I'd take it on #2, too;)).

finally got to snap a pic of mine it took a long time to start growing i got it as a 3/4" single branch frag but once it did it has really started to take off over the last 2 months or so....

Mine died in my tank transfer/crash, but I do have a pic of it when it was alive. It's not as good as gflat's, but it is nice.
