ORA Purple Pillow on Shrooms!!!!

This thing is looking crazy. No idea why or how the swirls developed, but I was wondering if this has happened to any of you.

Chris, I have a bonsai that has does the same thing. Congrats on the pick up. The pp is one that eludes us out on the west coast.

No idea. Its been in the tank for a while and is just starting to grow. I moved it yesterday and noticed it.

Thanks! I actually got it from Surfn some time ago and I almost lost it a few times. It is now just starting to encrust. It's a very temperamental coral.

I have been through 3 purple pillows and all have had that nice swirley coloring. They do very well for me and then one day they just poof and RTN for no reason. nothing touches them at all.... they just always RTN on me. They do grow and what not and I have them for months at a time so I am no sure what's up.

I love that coral though, it is one of my favorites. I will probably go get another one and hope that this one lasts through the year LOL.

Much like horridas-it seems the PP doesn't take kindly to ALK fluctuations-no sps does but some more then others.

i'm impressed with the larger purple tips, mine is mostly green with very slight lavender tips.

come to think of it, i have seen some swirling, but it doesn't seem to last very long. the green predominates on my colony.
