I can not for the life of me figure out what is going on with it! No polyp extension or anything. Any tips?

Acropower and pohls xtra special

I'd say if it's in your sand bed it needs to raised up to more light. Mine takes pretty full light at around 250-275 PAR.

Cheers, Todd

I started it off on the sand bed like I do all my corals, but it just looks like crap lol

I have it under radions and there's two ecotech mp40s on my tank think I should raise it up then?

Looks like it has PE to me. How long have you had the piece? How old is the tank?

Compared to every other coral in the tank, there is no polyp extension especially for it being a red planet! I've had it for a month and the tank for well over a year.

I would move it up. Mise is on the top of a rock, probably 4 or 5 inches from the surface. Growing like crazy.

I'll move it up to the top portion of the tank when I get home tonight. I think I'll actually move all of them off the frag area lol

More room for battlecorals ;)

When I had a frag, it was unhappy unless it was extremely high up and in really heavy flow. I pretty much had it in front of the powerhead getting blasted. Try raising it up and seeing if it gets any happier.

Well I have a perfect spot right in the path of the vortech! Lol hopefully it'll become happier, I want that bright red color! Haha

Mirroring what others said, I would move it up to gain more light. Regarding the PE...sometimes these things just take time to acclimate to our tanks. I know my Red Planet took months to start getting rich colors.

Yes, they need lots of flows and lights (mine is at 500 Par)

I have mine up top with quite a bit of flow like the others. Its taken my brown frag about a month - month and a half of that placement + dosing Acropower and feeding the tank reef roids daily to start showing color. I also keep my Alk a bit higher. I'd start moving it up and see what happens.

Thanks to everyone for your help, I've moved it up to the top 3rd of the tank. I'll update weekly :)

Watch for too much flow. Also I would do a random check for red bugs. I do agree move it up though.

Thanks, I was being half way sarcastic about right infront of it lol it's more like middle of the tank in it's path.

And I've been searching up and down my tank for bugs of any sort and can't find anything but I'll take one of my frags out and do another dip just to be sure.

;) I actually blew some of the tissue off a branch over the course of a couple days when I moved mine too close. Some sps like to be blasted, Red Planet for me likes mod to higher flow.
