Just to derail the thread a bit more (literally like watching grass grow) I broke an ORA Plum Crazy off its plug, then cut the bottom off the plug (dremel diamond cutting wheel lol) and planted it in the tank. Since a section of the encrusted circle came off we planted that chip separately and called the remainder "the toilet seat" for obvious reasons. It's grown better than the actual frag.

And to atone for my sins, as I always seem to be trying to do, here are pics of my shortcake frag. My coral growth overall is generally not very fast, and this one has def been on the low end of the rate spectrum. The color is better than it appears in this iPhone and mostly white light pic. Under mostly blue light the pinks and greens are actually pretty intense and beautiful. The encrusting is progressing, and there is a little branch thickening and tip growth. The plug was only half encrusted initially and the chips that broke off when removing it didn't seem worth bothering with at the time. Why the pics are sideways I do not know and cannot be bothered to deal with. Sorry. Oh and these are different views, not a growth sequence.

No ORA plug tho. for 41$ you get a 3/4" piece.. IMO Thats a bad Deal. For 40-50$ you get a 1.5" 2" fully encrusted Piece With the ORA plug.

FWIW, the ORA version of this Acropora is NOT called the Strawberry Shortcake. It is, simply, Shortcake. Hence, the confusion and the posts of people's pictures of the actual Strawberry Shortcake Acro. Which, IMO, is much more colorful and hardy than the ORA Shortcake.

Man LiveAquaria is expensive.
80.00 then you have to pay what probably 50.00 Shipping.
My LFS has a Nicer Frag that is Fully Encrusted and Larger.
They want 60.00 plus I can pick it up right away and not pay the 50.00 shipping.

Yeah they are pricey but if you plan on ordering from them I would spend $225 for free shipping. Another thing they do is 14 days guarantee on corals and you can get a refund if they don't make it. But yeah, they are expensive.

the price of the frag is over prices if it was 50$ with shipping that wouldnt be terrible but were it is 80 + shipping that is terrible were you can pick it up from a LFS if you are lucky enough to have one for 50-60$ without shipping for the price liveaquaria wants with shipping you could get two frags at a LFS
