Anyone have a clue it's pretty bright orange , a type of coralline maybe I tried to scrape it off and it won't come off !!!

Just found the stuff myself. Growing on my Alternative Reef Frag shelf. It looks a bit like orange fuzz, not sure what it is but it's pretty.

Nice yes it is really pretty I just hope it won't bug my goni my emerald seems to want to eat it and irritates the goni): I just wish I knew what is was

Sorry, not a clue on this one. Lets get Mikey J on this, maybe he knows. I'll shoot him a PM for yas.

Okay, thanks for the opportunity to help. Wednesday night church delayed answering. After careful consideration I think the answer is going to be a disappointment. There are encrusting orange sponges, but not scraping it off ruled that out. Without further delay it is simply Orange Coralline Algae, actually very common. Won't hurt a thing.

I had some glow in the dark, fluorescent blue coralline at one time, but it also happened to be the food of choice for a hitchhiker urchin.

Sweet I was hoping it would be coralline !! Not some crazy weird something that will hurt my goni thanks for the insight

In my tank, coralline that has been covered for a while and then moved into blue leds glows orange. I had 2 Vortechs on my back glass and when I took them off the coraline algae underneath glowed orange but only where the pump magnets were. Maybe it's the same type of thing.

I sure hope it's coralline...but I have something like this and everywhere it touches my palys they're turning brown ;_; including my beloved Sunny D's. It's not the lighting baceause I have a patch of greens that are as bright a green as always, but with brown ones where the orange stuff is touching.
