I got him and a flasher wrasse from LA on Tuesday. Today the flasher was dead and he's like this. I have them in a qt with no meds. I wanted to wait a bit to get them eating. They ate. They both ate yesterday and today the flasher was dead. The orange back ate just now and is swimming pretty good just don't know what the next step should be. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

have you checked for ammonia in your tank? how did u acclimate them?

i have video decoder. The fish appears to be hypo depressed and what you have represents brooklynella.
perform FW dip (same temp as tank water) and apply chemical bath using formalin then treat 20 days in CP or copper which is what you want. What you want if you cant formalin based treatment then would be acriflavine.
If you do use copper, assure you have a test kit to monitor levels and dose metronidazole every 48 hrs in conjunction for the first 10 days. Seachem Metroplex contains metronidazole.
So youre not confused, see how it does first with FW dip and Formalin.

I use the float method that LA says to use. I have not checked ammonia yet. I will right now. Can you see what's on him?

Ok i will do a freshwater dip. As for formalin i have safety stop i think that's formalin. Should i both safety stop baths?

Never heard of safety stop but looked it up and it appears that it treats an array of conditions.
formalin is a sure bet but look at ingredients to see what elements are in the packet (formalin, malachite green etc

It doesn't say but people in threads and youtube say it has formalin. One pack is supposed to be formalin and the second part is methanol blue something like that.
Ruby reef says it treats clown fish disease. I guess that is brook... humble fish does say there is anecdotal evidence that ruby can clear brook in a 90 minute bath.

I dod the freshwater dip and ruby reef for 90 min. I got him into a new steril 20 gallon with matching salinity and temp. I was going to do metro but I was going to wait until tomorrow.
He did swim right in. And now he is i. The corner recuping. Long night hope he makes it. Thanks again for your help.

Checked him out this morning. He was breathing but had a slime hanging off of him. After I took pics he swam behind the pvc and the slime came off. I added a pic of the slime. Seem to have some orange on it.

Keep the lights off. Let him settle a bit. Use a wifi cam to monitor instead of startling him over n over

This what he ended up with yesterday. I added metro to see if it helped...before that I tryed to feed him brime amd mysis with metro. He didn't eat. He is breathing slow and not moving too much. I thought he was a gonner last night. Today he was the same. I decided to do a safety stop bath since it's formalin and methanol blue. He seems the same after. I put him in the tank turned off lights and let him rest. I'll try feeding him after 4 or 5 hours. Does that still look like brook?
