just got this orange frogspawn. next to it is a yellow hammer. i placed a green hammer next to it for the pic so you can see the comparison in colors. in the far background you can see another piece of the orange frog.

sorry for the quick snapshot before they're fully opened. i'll take some better macros when things have settled in.

also have an orange branching hammer coming next week to add to the mix.

here's the one in the back corner:

some people have chalice addictions.

i just happen to have oddball euphyllia addictions. and favia, yuma, zoa, discosoma/rhodactis, acans, blastos, micros... lol

speaking of "ridiculous pricing" - i was watching an ebay listing for a single head of this orange frogspawn, and it sold yesterday for $290 plus shipping.

and no, i'm not trying to bump up prices or anything - don't plan to sell mine. just saying.

i know these are ridiculously hard to come by...first one i have actually ever seen in person is the one now in my tank.

I was watching that auction. I've watched a few of these orange frogspawn auctions. They all get pretty high. I didn't think they would because I can get these for $200/head at local stores. I figured online would be cheaper but I guess not everyone can get them at their LFS so the prices climb. Maybe I should buy mine locally and auction them

Gorgeous!! I love euphyllia corals. They make such a great addition to a reef tank.

Gorgeous! I agree with you, Euphyllias are awesome.

I transported the smaller piece of this that was up front in the tank to a friend's house about 5 blocks away. This is the same piece in indirect sunlight in my car, taken with my iPhone. :)

Very nice frog and hammer. I've been looking for different colors as well to create a euphillia garden.
