orange Fungia coral

Hello! I joined reef2reef yesterday so I am new to the forums and everything. Anyways my beautiful angelfish ate my orange fungia at first I thought it wasn't good with the water conditions but noticed the angel picking at it multiple times until it went completely white. Upon further examination of the coral there is still very small amount of flesh left. I have isolated it from the angels, but was wondering if it had a chance. Here is a picture not the exact coral but mine looked exactly like this one.

Hello and welcome!
There should not be a big impact on the nutrient levels if the coral is dead or dying but I recommend keeping it isolated and maybe trying to feed it once in a while.

Corals are very remarkable and have the ability to bounce back if given the proper conditions.

keep your angels away and give it the proper flow and lighting conditions. You will probably see it come back over a couple of months. I hope this helps you! Good luck and Merry Christmas !

Welcome to r2r, even if it dies back leave it in the tank, they have the ability to grow babies after being stressed, good luck.

Just keep it in low flow and isolated from the angels. Fungias are pretty hard and as long as nothing nips at it he has a decent change of returning.

I’ve found plates love to eat so maybe feed him every couple of days.

Hi! I did isolate it from the angels but it showed no response and seems to have gotten worse, the skeleton now has algae on it.

After wrecking the first coral my angels moved to my beautiful purple/pink plate coral, but after seeing the first few bites I covered it with a mesh strainer but it didn't get enough light and got agitated. I then setup it's very own system with the same tank water but didn't open at all. I then noticed that it was covered with sand and upon removing the sand the coral had bleached on the spots with sand and the plate still has color but after feeding reef roids to it multiple times it seems its mouth where it used to eat is just gone. I also want to mention that the heater on that tank was set to 84 degrees by mistake. I have since lowered the temperature but wanted to know if there is any chance it will pull through??
