orange magicians part 2

about 4 months ago(month of may) i picked up a colony of 55+ polyps neon orange "magician looking" palys...i got it as aussie orange palys....i managed to save about 15 polyps and sold traded 10 polyps..i lost more than half of the colony..they just closed up,never opened went mushy and smelled really bad..it didnt melt at all,just closed up and was rotting inside...

here is a picture of it when i first got it....it is neon orange and obviously bleached...

after months in my tank..here is an updated pic...it is like a goldish orange color..for some reason after switching to led's,its so hard to capture good coral colors:sad:

some more,look like sunflower:xd:

i do notice that the babies(new polyps) are more goldish orange than the old polyps...

they are actually magicians.....i have lots of magicians..but this one actually is different color,its orange

Yeah, I bought some from Unique Corals, try looking on their site. I got the Firecrackers and the trippin psycs! Both look like awesome morphs of the magicians but definitely different!

I'll for sure back up luisse on this one... I bought a single polyp from her not long ago. I haven't got it really growing yet but it's doing well and has kept true to the color that it came in as. They are very orange. Like Orange envy people eater orange. The firecrackers are just magicians with a more spread out pattern of blue spackles. The trippin' psychic palys are red with orange in the skirts. Orange magicians. And before you think it is a trick of the light or that they are bleached or faded consider that Luisse has had them for a while. She had them originally under halides and those pics if they are current pics were taken under LEDs. I've got my single polyp under a 6 bulb t5 fixture with 4 ATI blue+, a UVL actinic white, and a current USA 10k bulb.

Anyways, I just wanted to confirm for everyone that these are in fact orange magicians cuz it seems that people always say the same things to her when she posts these up. They're different than red magicians just as blue hornets are different than purple hornets. Here's a pic of mine I dunno if you can tell the color difference better in this one or not.

Here's another pic of them in the background under actinics. I shot both of these shots about a month ago.

Anyways, sorry if this sounded like a rant, these really are way sweet and I'm proud to have one in my tank. Cheers! :bigsmile:

decided to take pics topdown eventhough my pics still looks crappy
i notice 2 of the orange magicians stands out on the mini colony and 2 others are coloring up the same...heres a pic..its hard to take pics now eversince i switch to leds which kinda sucks..it doesnt seem to be bright..

thanks guys...i have the pacific sun leds 2 IO units over my 48x30x15 shallow tank...i still have to put 4 t5's for actinics as i like the more bluer look,just the leds alone kinda make it look more like pinkish color..if i put it to 21k or 22k it gets too dim...though after i switched to leds my zoas and palys seems to like it.
