All other SPS are doing great. I've had this monti cap in my tank for 18+months with no problems.. grew it from a quarter size plug.

Just recently started with a tiny white spot, and then as it grew the center became a dark brown/orange, with a white ring around it.

Any ideas what this could be? I haven't introduced new corals to my tank for over 6months now.. never had nudi branches, so I don't think that could be possible.

Params:

Salinity: 35
Temperate 77.8
Po4 .02
Alk: 9.4
Calcium 480
Mag: 1380
Nitrates: 10
Ammonia: 0
Nitrites: 0

Thanks for any suggestions.

That is really strange. Would keep eye open for pest but also think it should grow back.

It started as a white little spot a month or so ago. At first it looked like a small new growth, but now it's steadily growing wider and getting darker In the center?

Very odd.
Looks like a hole. Is it getting bigger?

The darkness could be that it died and algae is accumulated on it.
Can you post perameters?
Edit: Could be an infection of some sort.

It looks like a hole to me as well but from the bottom it looks completely normal. it doesn't go thru.

It also doesn't budge or break when I poke it with a toothpick.

It's slowly getting bigger. This ha progressed for at least a month

Could be it if something fell on it and stung it..

Parameters are in the original post up top

Oops, sorry. Parameters look good
Yes could be something fell and sting it.
You want to keep an eye on this. Don't let it spread to far

I have torch coral and hammer corals in my tank. Sometimes fish with unintentionally cut a tentacle off and send it flying throught the water column. It landed on one of my sps and stuck on the flesh which causes that spot to turn white. Then the coral grew it back or filled it back in a couple weeks or less.
