All,

I purchased an Orange Pavona from the LFS about 6 weeks ago. I placed it about 2/3rds of the way up the tank with pretty strong flow from my gyre pump. I've noticed more recently that it has lost some of its original vibrant color and doesn't appear to be doing well. From reading online, I've found recommendations from high light / high flow to low light / medium flow. What's the right answer?

I'm thinking it is getting too much light. I moved it down in the tank today to an area that gets less light, but I'm guessing. Your input is greatly appreciated.

FYI, I've got a bunch of other corals in there that seems to be doing well, but no other SPS. I have been doing regual water changes and dosing with Reef Trace.

Thanks,

John

Corals sometimes lose a bit of coloration when introduced to a new system. As long as it is not losing tissue it should adjust in a couple of weeks or so. Just to be sure, what are your parameters and by chance do you know what the parameters of the LFS were?

Super adaptable coral. But, was probably lightening up from more light than it had before. Likely would have adjusted but will be fine a bit lower like you did.
