I have 5 polyps of Orange People Eater OPE for the last one month+ and they were doing great and opening up and colorful until 3 days ago I target fed then using a syringe with coral frenzy mixed with dried cyclopeze. I target fed all my corals and others are doing fine. But this OPE is not opening up since then. I have no idea what happened. I made sure that I did not touch them with the syringe and fed them like all others.

Please help is there something wrong? I dont think its because i target fed them. Dont know?

Can i do some dipping? Whats the best? Thanks

They probably ate so much that they have closed up to digest. Feeding corals should not hurt them. Bet ya they are okay. Anything else look off?

+1 they should be fine when i feed my rpe's to much they do the same thing for about 2 to 3 days then they open up. if they don't you can make a iodine dip for them but let them sit for a week before you do it. if you start to see them melt dip them sooner. hope this helps.

They do close for days to reopen fine as long as everything else is ok.:feel_good:

Well all other corals seems like they are fine except for the OPE. I was scared so I dipped them in Kents Iodine for 10 minutes and put them back. Hopefully they will open soon.

One of my Stardust PE also not opening after I moved him in higher lights. He was in the bottom tank for more than a month happy and open and pretty then I decided to move way up to the top and they closed up. I did iodine dip and placed him back to the bottom where he was happy but now he is not opening up either. I thought Palys were very hardy but I guess they are very sensitive.

If they don't open up after a week/start looking like they are not doing well then you should be worried. Move them to a different location with more/less flow/light. Don't worry, they'll be fine!
