Check the underside. By the time I realized my underside was all gone. I had some worms in the said eat the flesh. Also move to a lower light and feed. Try reef roids first and see if the response is there.

It should it show any skeleton. Should have orange on the underside too!!

Shade I a little and feed maybe. Hopefully it'll pull through. What ever you do, do not remove if from the tank even once you think it's gone. Plates are well known to come back with babies.

ive been feeding mysis and nls reef formula and nls nurta cell coral food and also using the kz nano pack

How were you able to confirm it was the worms? I had a fungia stn on me from the bottom up and never could come up with a reason why. I left it in and now have 10+ little baby fungias growing on the skeleton of the old one.

Flash light at night. The plate coral is close to glass and I could see things moving. Now that said this could be STN also!! But as I saw worms I’m kinda leaning towards it. Mine is in there and slowly dying. Hoping for baby plates... did you have to do anything for the baby plates or just let it be?

The worms might just be attracted to the decaying flesh. When mine completely died off I just left it in a low flow low light area and little orange specs started to appear. Now that they are large enough to see the tentacles with the naked eye I'm feeding them Coral Frenzy mixed with Phyto-Feast 1-2 times a week with the rest of the corals.

When mine had the same thing going on it was suggested to me to do an iodine dip.

Yea I was feeling afraid to buy another also, especially not knowing why the first one died off. We will see if the offspring survive.

STN just means slow tissue necrosis. The cause is unknown. Could have been some damage to the underside that started it. Maybe someone on #reefsquad can tell you more.

Couple of variables we need to know. First what is your lighting. What are your water parameters. How long have you had the coral. Are any other corals effected or just this one.

My lightning is a hydro galaxy 165w led my flow is a ecotech mp10. No other corals are affected my tank is mainly sps dom with some Lps. I do weekly 5 gallon water changes using Red Sea coral pro. I also supplement the kz nano reef pack.
