Does anyone know if this sea star is reef compatible? The guy at the fish store told me yes but then I saw this.

A lot of starfish, like the pesty Asterina Starfish, have been known to eat the dead tissue off softies. Not sure if your Orange has a bigger appetite (?)

Good news is if the Zoa was being eaten, the zoa would close up tight. Just keep checking the your zoa polyps all stay open for the next 2 weeks.

Well that is bright.
I believe its a Fromia milleporella yellow tipped variety, never had a fromia eat corals.... but they are not an easy animal to keep. They eat a variety of films and sponges in the tank. There is not really a way to feed them, your tank either has enough of its food source or it doesn’t. They are easier than some other sea stars but that isnt really to say easy.

Welcome to the forum! Only one way to find out for sure and that is to keep an eye on it! Very pretty though, I would try it!
