It sounds like some people have had success keeping them in reef tanks but. . .

for me I like my SPS too much to chance it. . .

If you are only keeping hardy corals though maybe it wouldn't be an issue?

I just got a matted filefish that is tiny. He is very shy. I have never had a filefish before. I got this to eat Aptasia.

I googled Orange Filefish. Is this what you want? What size tank do you have?

Thier primary diet are sps. This is a fish best left in the ocean

They rarely accept prepared food.

Cantherhines pullus, orange SPOTTED filefish. The fish looks so much brighter and colorful than standard filefish. I also have aptaisa. Sounds like I'm going to keep using aptasia X and pass on fish.​

Aiptasia Eating Filefish: Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Aquariums

Not at this price, however, I suggest you get this filefish to eat Aptasia. At 3.5” max, it looks nice in 30G tank.

Ps. He is amongst the seaweeds with night light. Earlier, I saw him checking out Aptasia.
