I have a pair of the notoriously tough to keep Orange Spotted File Fish. I have had my pair for about 8 months and when I got them they were eating frozen fare quite well. I feed them a diet of Nutra Mar Ova and Rod's reef fish blend both soaked in Garlic Power and Vita Chem. My question is this. For the past 8 months I have kept the file fish in a 12 gallon Nano-Cube with one of my clownfish breeding pairs. They have done well here as the clownfish don't give them an overly aggressive time when feeding. I would like to move them over to my Red Sea Max which is a mixed reef with the following animals.
Various soft corals and LPS corals
Various sea stars, hermits - etc.
Kaudern's Cardinalfish (1)
Red Mandarin Dragonet (1)
Black Photon Perc Pair
Percula Perc Pair
Falco's Hawkfish
Copperband Butterfly (Temp tenant to weed out aiptasia outbreak, then he goes back to fish only tank)
Do you think the filefish would be alright with this stocking list. They are aggressive feeders and I can't see anyone else in the tank bothering them too much. I just imagine they will eat the eggs the next time my clowns lay some.
