I just bought a orange spotted goby at the fish store, going to float for 20 mins, and then drip acclimate for 30 is that good? Also how often should he be fed? I also heard they try to jump out and my tank does not have a lid, do you see that being a problem?

Couldn't agree more. Ours made the dive. Turned into a potato chip
1st step make sure its not a diamond watchman they need to eat a lot and they will kill a few corals by burying them and it does not matter how high in the tank they are trust me mine just threw sand on and killed an acro today after I was gone taking the SAT.
2nd step they are not that hard definitely get a lid because to be honest almost all fish jump eventually except perhaps very slow moving fish that stick to the bottom. These gobies are jumpers.
3rd step a mix of mysis and brine or pellets should be fine get it eating well now the shrimp gobies do not need a ton of food. Start on twice a day then shift down to once a day. If you have no other fish or just hardy fish like clowns or damsels you can even skip a day or two a week with most of these shrimp gobies. There are a lot of tanks out there being fed three times a week with just a single shrimp goby that have no algae.
4th step watch for any intestinal worm issues
