Just curious how often and what everyone is feeding their sunburst? We have one that we got for a steal and it opens up a little bit here and there but hasn’t fully opened yet. Feeding 2-3 times daily a mix of reef roids, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp. I have a cut bottle I put over it to target feed it but it seems to like it more when I stir up the substrate up stream from it. Attached are some pics of it about 30 minutes ago after feeding and this last night after a feeding.

Wow looking good! I never had success with sun coral, I would definitely like to give it another try someday. Beautiful specimen you have there. When I had mine I think I was trying to feed it every 1-2 days. I guess this wasn't enough to get it going. I felt hesitant to feed it more as I thought it would cause an algae bloom.

The tank it’s in has a nutrient deficiency so I have a Dino issue right now. I’m hoping the multiple feedings help with that. We got that for about $65. We are in the process of making this tank an NPS specific tank cause I think they are amazing looking. Next up I think will be a black sun coral.

Nice!! Those are beautiful corals. Do these corals have a reverse light schedule? I read they come out night.

That sounds awesome. You may have already seen this one. But it would definitely be worth a read. Reef central used to do a tank of the month. This nps reef won one month pretty impressive setup.

This year, I converted a FOWLR tank to a NPS/softie tank. After a steep learning curve, I have black, blue and two orange sun corals. I learned from other sun coral keepers that they enjoy a strong current. Maybe yours may enjoy more flow.
