Orange Tree Gorgonian

Ok I know this Orange Tree Gorgonian is toast due to my Blue Tang has been munching on it but I notice on one branch

was growing a darker orange growth and really full what is it? **see pic I found out I should have been spot feeding, "my bad" doesn't look like its going to make it but trying to learn ***need to get rid of my Tang

It looks like a type of macro algae. Maybe a type of Gracilaria

Where did you happen to find your Swiftia gorgonian?
