So, the orbit R24 is on sale at chewy again for 2 units with what appears to be a good app and LED layout. Then there's noopsyche 140w with a controller for same price. What to do. I currently have an ai hydra26hd and prime hd on my 48" tank that has basically nothing in it but an rbta and a whole bunch of blue stylophora taking over the rock.

Thinking the R24 on each side of the hydra26 or get a noopsyche and eventually get another. Not planning on much for sps. Mostly softies and lps with rock flowers and rbtas as it splits

This is just me personally, but I wouldn’t buy a current orbit product. I’ve had their return pumps and wave makers and they are junk, they didn’t last long and their customer service is a joke.

I've had ok luck with their product. I have 3 of the loop 660 gph flow pimps and a 1050dc return pump. The circulation pumps need cleaning like monthly it seems or they lose power. Return pump seems as good as my simplicity, which I think is just a rebadged jebao

Curious when you bought them? I had good luck when they first came out and the. They supposedly sold and quality went down hill.

I would go with the Noopsyche. The orbits aren’t really going to provide enough light for your anemones, they’re really just for low light soft corals and LPS. The Noopsyche would allow you to grow pretty much anything.

Based on the ratings, that is incorrect for the new R24 as they have more power than the ai primehd, which has kept one of my rbta the size of a dinner plate

You’re right, I was thinking of the Orbit Marine LED, I keep forgetting that they came out with a puck style light. Though looking at the specs and PAR values, I don’t know that it’s more powerful than the AI Prime. But certainly powerful enough for anemones.
