Orca labs nitra guard?

Anyone ever try these without a skimmer? I am curious since I've only ever heard of one other person on here using them. @Randy Holmes-Farley do you have any guess whether or not these pose a risk for bacterial blooms? https://orcalabsamerica.com/nitra-guard-bio-cubes-original/
No experience with this product. I wonder if it’s another bacteria digestible polymer and the bacteria are suppose to stay attached to it, though biofilms do disperse, so a skimmer might still be needed.

Yeah it seems like the skimmer would make sense as a requirement. I don't really know how much of that bacteria would be consumed by other organisms in my tank but I was curious what might happen. I'm curious if anyone has used these in a skimmer less tank since they seem sort of neat. I also have no clue how "aggressive" these are at promoting nitrate removal.

Do the product instructions recommend a skimmer?
