Is blue arrow plumbed to sump pump to bring water into the skimmer and red to return water back into sump?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Nice install. Is it easy to get the body out to clean it and the pumps?

Corey

Thanks. Yes it is easy to clean. Unscrew the collection cup and remove it. Then open the bottom door, undo all unions and slide pump and/or body out. The cup drain line also goes through the wall to a 5 gallon bucket located under the tank.

Here's a pic of the working skimmer and of the camouflage panel to hide it.

You'd never know there's a rotten bucket of scum behind those photos. Looks great.

Be careful there and monitor that area frequently. In my experience these types of external skimmers can have a tendency to drip or form a lot of salt creep so you'll want to monitor it so that your bookshelf doesn't turn into a mold cabinet. I can't see the Reeflo but just a reminder that those pumps need to be maintained to prevent small leaks.

Thanks for the info and warnings. The skimmer and pump are sitting in an acrylic drip tray that'll hold almost 5 gallons in addition to the skimmer and pump. I'l order an extra rebuild/ maintenance kit for the pump.

I'll probably add a small 12v fan and duct the area where collector cup is through a charcoal air filter and through wall to under tank. Should address moisture and smell.

Great plan!
