Orchid/strawberry dottyback in a community tank?

Hey guys! 105gallon softie tank. Inhabitants are sailfin tang and foxface (both small), chromis, 2x clowns, Bullet goby, shrimp and hermit crab.

Are these fish ok for community tanks? Anyone had any experience with them? Or are they just as bad as the infamous royal dottyback?

We recently started importing them in NZ and they’re very beautiful.

I have one in my tank. It's a gorgeous fish. Not as aggressive as other dottyback, but will defend it's territory if provoke. Should be fine with your current inhabitants.

I have one that is doing great. I have all the same fish as you except no goby and I have a couple of other fish

The orchid is, but the other is not.

Thank you for your advice everyone! As this is my last fish before I work on my corals I think I might give this a try. Better start cycling the quarantine tank haha

Right, not the same fish. Orchid much less aggressive than the strawberry.

Oh I’ve just realized we have a STRAWBERRY dottyback, which is different from an orchid dottyback.
Anyone owned the strawberry?

It’s a stunning fish, no question. A pugnacious little fish too. Generally fine with tangs, angels, etc; but problematic with wrassses, basslets, etc.

Orchids are fairly docile (for a dottyback)

Strawberries are kinda mean. Maybe a hair below a royal dottyback.

But your tank size and fish list should be fine.

No clue about the bullet goby.
