Based on what a someone said here, I ordered all new testing kits,

I ordered 3 Hanna Instruments testers, dKH, Calcium and Ultra Low Range Phosphate Colorimeter
AS well 4 testers from Salifert for PH, Ammonia, nitrite and Magnesium.

I will also be ordering RO that I can hook up to my tap for RO water for when I change out my water.

The Hanna phosphate and ALK testers are very well regarded. The calcium less so.

Salifert tests are a good bet. You said “nitrite”. Did you misspeak? Nitrite is ok to test in cycling, but nitrate is far more useful for an established system.

Looking at my order I did order Nitrite test kit but I also ordered the Nitrate as well.

yep if I’m you could do away with the calcium and get Salifert, no need for nitrite. Nitrites have been shown by Randy that they are not an issue as once was thought a decade ago and really no need to test for.

There was a good video out there regarding the Cal checker and I’ve found that it is almost in line with my trident. It’s a YouTube video someone posted on here and it worked good. Let me see if I can find it.

If you ordered just RO, you may want to add DI stage to it.

My alk test kit gets the most use. Nitrate and Po4 next.

Mg and Ca maybe monthly (they don't change much).

I have never used a Nitrite test kit but ammonia can be useful to have on hand for emergencies or QT fish.

pH I have a probe for but honestly don't pay much attention to it. It isn't something you want to dose a buffer for and I would probably never use a test kit for it as it is something I would never attempt to change besides running a fuge opposite or opening a window.
