Just curious how long inverts such as hermits and snails can live in their shipping bag if temperature is not an issue. Yes I’m aware it’s always best to get them acclimated sooner than later. I’m asking if there is any major risk to leaving them in their bags/box for say 8-10 hours after delivered?

I bought a bunch of snails from live-plants one time and it took 3 days to get to me. Snails had just a small bit of water in the bag too. They all lived - not sure if he just packed it different or if they really are that hardy! Some inverts for sure will be more sensitive I would think though.

Well I was thinking about some hermit crabs. Margarita snails and a few cleaner shrimp. Shrimp was more in question than the other two

the shrimp are my main concern. are they coming in over night then your asking if they can stay in the bag 8-10 hrs? am I reading this right?

I would say not ideal for the shrimp but "should" be fine?

That is correct. And it may not be 10 hours. Basically they will probably be delivered around 10 am. I’m going to come back to my house for lunch and bring them in from outside but obviously 30 minutes it’s not enough time to acclimate them properly so wondering if they are just in the bags floating in my tank will they be ok until I can get back home

I am not sure. hope all goes well keep us posted.

maybe ask the boss for a longer lunh break if you work later? just an idea.
Well just thought I’d give an update. Wouldn’t believe my luck but actually got the day off today for working too many days in a row. Shrimp, snails, and crabs have all been acclimated and in the tank now for about 7 hours. Everything seems to be going well.
