I ordered a birds nest around 2 months ago when it came in it broke in half.
Grabbed a acropora came in today and it was broken off the frag in two pieces. Went to glue it onto a rock flow took it and i lost it...

anyone else get unlucky like this? no more ordering stick like frags online for me.

If you can buy local I would. Local corals are less stressed and you can choose exactly what you want. Plus a good fish/coral store has employees who can answer a lot of questions.

It also depends on how it is packaged. I have never had a frag come off of the plug, because of the way I package them. I glue the plugs to containers so they don’t bounce around and rub against anything.

A lot of people just put the plugs inside of a bag, but I don’t like the fact that they will rub against the bag the entire time during shipping.

These are photos of one of my shipments, and every single one arrived perfectly fine, So don’t get discouraged, everybody packages differently.

exactly if they were shipped even in the cup i feel like it would have had a better chance

I've had broken birdsnest before..they're so brittle, so, i kinda expect that..the way i see it, i can grow an extra colony with that broken piece.

99.5% of the time they arrive fine. I buy pretty much all corals online.
Some vendors pack better than others.
The best so far ive seen are the ones that put the plug onto a piece of Styrofoam and let it float upside down in the bag which minimizes stick contact with bag.

online is cheaper, but only good thing about cheap is it's happy at begging, but pain when it comes. Local is expensive, but only bad about it is it's pain when you're paying, but happy about what you paid after pain.
