just aquired a small frag of blue tort, placed it in tank at same level as a green slimer that is growing good, should this be ok or does it need more light? it is approx. midtank now but i have more room up close to top if it needs to be moved.

Give it time.... If you "just acquired it" no one will know where it should be in your tank without knowing more about your tank...

mid tank in a 150 tall would be too low, mid tank in a 10 gallon may be too high then it depends on what lighting
more specifics please, but like poseidon said, if you just got it you should see how it does before moving

more info on tank...50 gal bowfront running 4-54w t5 lights, about 550 gph flow through system. housing 1 maroon clown, 1 small mimic tang, 1 starry blenny, snails, favia, green slimer, blue tort, kenya trees, mushrooms, birdnest, candy canes, zoas, frogspawn, hammer. aqua c remora skimmer, bio wheel and aquaclear 70 filters. SG 1.025, nitrates <10 ppm, nitrites 0, ammonia 0, calcium 480,

im not an sps buff but i think you may need more flow
can you elaborate on your lighting some more? ie reflector, brands, bulbs, ballasts

lighting is a wavepoint 48" t5 fixture w/individual reflectors for bulbs, internal ballast so not sure what kind it has in it. running 2 daylight bulbs 12000k and 2 actinic 460nm

i have it near the surface of my tank so it can have more light and have my powerhead blowing at it.

mine is a third of the way down my 75, (2x250) and 10 inches away from the vortech.

Lots of light and flow. Mine is from fragfarmer, not ORA... they look different, but I assume they have the same requirements.
