Hi Randy, I recently got an ATI Orion 130. I used TLF's Accurasea calibration solution to test and calibrate the probe using the manual below. I have 3 questions:

1) TLF tech support told me Accurasea calibration solution is suitable to calibrate a cond. probe - could you please confirm?
2) How often should I calibrate?
3) Perhaps a dumb one, but not very familiar with cond.probes. I spot check my tank with a refractometer (Atago) before water changes but would like to use the probe for mixing new water. If the probe measured values in the tank and the new mix are the same (e.g. 25.7C and 52.9mS), is it safe to assume the measurement is precise?

THANKS!

Orion 130 Manual

It should be appropriate if it meets its own description. My Orion 128 could not actually be adjusted, but it never drifted over years of use. It was always off a standard by the same amount.

Your question 3, you mean accurate to mean the two solutions have the same salinity? Yes.

Many thanks! Q3 I just wanted to know if I can stop checking the new mix with a refractometer. really appreciate your help!
