I have a jbj 45rl and an Orion lt 120 light. Was trying to find a custom schedule for it. Can't find anything on the internet other than the stock pre sets not being great. Thanks!!

Great on the lighting post... I felt bad because you haven't gotten a response yet. So I started doing a little research online for you and what a shock there is almost zero information about this light, for whatever reason I can't even find the manual. Normally someone has tinkered with the settings to come up with a good lighting schedule... sheesh. So lets help you come up with one of your own. A couple of qualifiers and questions:

What type of tank are you thinking of running? SPS, LPS or mixed tank?
Measure the distances from your light to the: Top, bottom and anywhere you plan on placing corals. This will give you a general idea of the light intensity depending on depth. I found this par distro on Reefbuilders... Depending on your measurements and types of corals we can come up with at 12hrs schedule for you.

I haven't mounted it yet but I will when I get home later. Thinking about going mixed reef but starting with lps.

Looking at the light intensity on that chart SPS would go at the top for that 200-300 par level, mid-low is perfect for LPS. When I get to my computer I'll send you what I use for my Radions in terms of schedule-intensity and colors.

Thanks man I really appreciate it, I haven't put the light on yet because I know I'll play with it and I'm trying not to get an algea bloom lol

To keep algae down during your cycling process recommend no lighting at least while getting through the early stages of ammonia and nitrites. When you add fish start with blue light and over the course of a few weeks increase white, red and green light. Note: Try to minimize the red though algae thrive under red light.

Find out if there is a pre-programmed acclimation mode for when you add your lights to the tank to allow for livestock to

In terms of my light schedule I run my lights from 8am - 10pm. Keep in mind this is with XR30 Gen4's the LEDs a little different. See picture...

I'll go through the color spectrums in my next post.

I'm not sure how much control you'll have over your colors, does the Orion use an app or is it all manual?

It's manual and I can control white and blues for 6 changes a day. I have no red or green and haven't set it up yet as to not be tempted to run it lol

I asked the same question years ago. Still no info to this day. I do 20 white 70 blue.
