My Meleagris Leopard is changing. She/he was in the tank for several years, since she was just about 1.5 inches. He is now about 3.5 inches. He have been changing over the last several months. I don't think he change completely yet, but I certainly change in appearance and behavior. He start to be aggressive toward my male Black Leopard.
Here she was about 3 months ago, with a smaller female Meleagris
Here are his pictures last week. There are several significant changes, the front dorsal rays start to have much brighter orange tips. There is a black patch color on the chest, dark black, and the dark spots on the body and face start to line up and become more linear. It seem that some of the scales change from dark to blue and some change from blue to dark to align into a linear pattern. Some of the picture does show these scales changing. I think it ma be several weeks before he change completely. I read from other people posted, that these wrase seem to change overnight, but this is not the case with my wrasse.

Dark spot on the chest, and the orange tipped dorsal rays. Females have orange tipped rays too but much less vivid
More of the face in profile. The orange tipped dorsal rays can be seen clearly here, as the facial pattern changes and the on going changes in the brown and blue scales
