Hey guys I’ve got a 6g office tank with a damsel, RFA, and duncan.

I don’t have the time or money right now to get a bunch of coral so I’m thinking of picking up some ornamental algae to give the tank some movement and provide a stimulating environment for the damsel.

I want a macro algae that is pretty and easy to remove if I decide to go with a more traditional reef later. Thus, I need something that will not take over the display and pretty much just grow where I put it.

Any recommendations? Right now I’m thinking the Red Dragon’s Breath!

I have Gracilaria Hayi which is great as it’s a clump that doesn’t root so super easy to remove and I just have it sandwiched next to some rock and it stays put .

I love my Caulerpa however I’ve had to be diligent about keeping it attached to some rock away from the main rock structure .

ohhh the Gracilaria Hayi is gorgeous! Any tricks to keeping it happy/growing?

Dragon's breath is my favorite. It even floresces some under actinic lighting. Unfortunately, my snails love it too. I have to grow it only in my sump.

I have it semi sandwiched between the rock and glass , but you could probably tuck a small piece under some rock to stabilize it . Or use cotton thread to tie it to a small piece of rock to anchor it
how do you keep the algae in one place? Tuck part under a rock?
