Hey All,

Anything to worry about with an ORP of 160? If so how do you remedy it?

ORP isn't really a number that you chase - every tank will be different. The key with ORP is that it remain within normal bounds for your tank.
How long have you had the ORP probe in your tank? What has it's reading range been previously?

Higher the #, less organic particles in water column. Vacuum detritus, remove excess food, dead creatures, etc... help increase #. Better filtration, I just started using Hiatt filtration products. Works for me.

I just setup my apex yesterday and coming to the end of my cycle. I read the same but wanted to confirm since apex comes with an alarm already applied for anything under 200. I've been at 165.

That's where mine was for a long time after starting the tank. It took about 2 months to get above 200 and now is stable at 350. I turned the alarm off until it was in the alarm range.

FWIW, I don’t think there is any evidence that higher ORP is better, and it might even be the other way around. Organisms cannot detect ORP, but they may be impacted by the speciation of the trace elements in the water, such as ferric vs ferrous iron, and ORP impacts that ratio.
